Luxury doesn't do templates. How Good Earth built 1,000+ custom pages without a dev team.

A legacy brand built on craft, culture, and story

Good Earth is India's most celebrated luxury lifestyle brand. Founded in 1996 by Anita Lal, what started as a studio pottery project grew into a pan-India retail chain and global e-commerce destination — selling handcrafted home decor, dinnerware, apparel, and artisanal gifts rooted in traditional Indian craftsmanship.

Today they operate across 10+ stores and ship to 60+ countries. Every collection tells a story. Every page on their site needs to tell it just as well.

The Challenge

A brand this visual deserves pages to match

Good Earth's design team had the vision, the assets, and the creative direction. What they didn't have was a way to bring it all to life without opening a dev ticket and waiting.

Every landing page needed a developer. Every campaign had a deadline. And every collection looked different — cookie-cutter templates were never going to work for a brand like this.

The bottleneck wasn't creativity. It was the pipeline between design and publish.

Designers were blocked by dev dependencies

Every landing page required developer time, creating bottlenecks and slowing the team down.

Dev time was too valuable to spend on page builds

With a growing catalog and more ambitious campaigns, pulling engineers into page production wasn't sustainable.

No two pages could look the same (and that was the point)

Good Earth's aesthetic shifts dramatically across collections. Templates weren't an option. Every page needed to feel custom and on-brand.

Time-to-publish was slowing down campaigns

Seasonal launches and gifting campaigns had tight deadlines. Delays in page production meant delays going live.

The Solution

Maker Pages: creative freedom without the dev bottleneck

Good Earth adopted Maker Pages to give their creative team direct control over how their products and stories show up online. Pages is built for exactly this kind of brand, one where the visual experience is the product, and where no two collections should ever look the same.

With Pages, a single designer could take a page from concept to live. No code, no handoffs, no waiting. Every collection got a layout that matched its aesthetic, whether that was a moody, earthy palette for a craft drop or a bright editorial feel for a gifting campaign.

Every page felt art-directed, not templated

Full control over layout, typography, imagery, and visual flow. Built to match each collection's creative direction.

Homepage and collection pages at scale

From hero banners to editorial sections, the team could build and update what mattered most on their own timeline.

One designer, full output

Instead of coordinating across a team of designers, developers, and QA, a single designer could take a page from concept to live. This was a fundamental shift in how quickly and independently the creative team could work.

Consistent brand quality across 1,000+ pages

That volume would have been impossible without a tool that made high-quality output repeatable and efficient.

Maker Pages solution

"At Good Earth we care about speed, we care about quality and being on brand even more, and Maker helped us with all three."

The Results

7 years. 1000+ pages. 1 designer.

The numbers tell a clear story, but the real impact is in what they represent: a creative team that stopped being blocked and started moving at its own pace.

Why It Worked

The right tool for a visual-first brand

Good Earth's stores are immersive, beautifully curated spaces. Their website had to hold the same standard — and their team needed the ability to maintain it without depending on a development pipeline for every update.

Maker gave them ownership over the thing they care about most: how their work looks online. For a brand built on craft and visual storytelling, that's not just convenient. It's essential.
